Best Halal Restaurants in Manchester (City Centre, Rusholme & Beyond)

From the Northern Quarter and Spinningfields to Rusholme’s famous Curry Mile, these are the best halal restaurants in Manchester worth trying based on my own experiences and recommendations.

1. Damo – Halal Italian Restaurant (Altrincham)

One of the reasons I created this guide to the best halal restaurants in Manchester is to highlight hidden gems like Damo in Altrincham, a halal Italian Restaurant in Manchester set up by 3 brothers who have a passion for authentic Italian cuisine. Everything is made with high-quality ingredients and every time I’ve been it’s been perfect and they serve a big range of food perfect for a 3 course meal or quick lunch!

They do serve alcoholic drinks on the floor but if you go for lunchtime it feels almost like a nice fancy cafe and then come evening it feels like a cosy fine dining restaurant. It’s fairly small and intimate so booking ahead is recommended.

2. Lucky Mama’s – Halal Italian Restaurant (Chorlton)

Another one of the hidden halal gems in Manchester is Lucky Mama’s with a store in Chorlton and a takeaway in Monton. We’ve ordered from here and sat in a few times and it’s’ one of my favoutites.

They keep the menu unique but simple with lots of pasta and pizza options, don’t miss out on their sauces either! Their meat is all halal although they serve a small selection of pork too. Their Chorlton restaurant is fairly small and they don’t take bookings so arrive at a good time or be prepared to wait but it’s worth it!

3. Yard and Coop – Halal Fried Chicken (Northern Quarter)

I’ve been here a few times with my husband, and it’s easily one of the most fun and affordable halal restaurants in Manchester if you’re craving fried chicken. Located in the Northern Quarter, Yard & Coop is known for its buttermilk fried chicken, loaded fries and comfort food classics — and as confirmed on their website, all of their chicken is halal with no pork served.

The restaurant has a lively, bar-style atmosphere (especially on weekends), but there’s also more relaxed seating to the side. With its casual “coop”-style decor and upbeat vibe, it’s a great spot for lunch or dinner if you’re exploring halal restaurants in Manchester Northern Quarter.
