What are the best countries to visit in June?? June is a great time to travel before the school holidays start and temperatures fully soar in places like Europe so let me give you some great places to go on holiday in June!
Whether you’re looking to head to Europe and take advantage of less busy beaches and seaside towns before the school holidays start, or you’re looking for an Asian or Caribbean getaway before the wet seasons start, or you want to escape summer and head to the Southern Hemisphere for a winter holiday, this is a list of where to travel in June with options suitable for everyone based on recommendations and places I have travelled.
1. UNITED KINGDOM
As a Brit, I have to include the UK in this list of the best countries to visit in June because June is truly a great month to visit.. or stay in the country, depending where you are reading this!! I keep saying that these days, we get our summer in June instead of July and August with long summer days and often, wonderful heat, before it gets sticky and overcast later in the summer.
Cities like London, Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh are lively and happy in June and you can do enjoyable road trips around Wales, England and Scotland all whilst kids in the UK are still in school, meaning attractions midweek are much quieter than later in the summer.
I spent a week in Devon and Cornwall the other year in June and it was a week full of sunshine and blue skies, the best week we had all summer I think! A Scotland trip is particularly ideal in June because later in the summer the midges come out which are extremely annoying but June is just before they arrive!

2. SPAIN
Spain in June is an all-round winner. Come July & August, it can get very busy, and very hot with Europeans on their summer school holidays but June offers beautiful hot weather still and slightly fewer crowds.
I visited Granada in June and although it was hot, it was much more pleasant than when I returned again a month later in July. Flying into Malaga and doing an Andalusian road trip up to Ronda and Granada visiting Alhambra offers a great mix of road trip, beach and city vibes.
The beautiful island of Mallorca is a great spot to visit for a June vacation. Everything is open and buzzing, the weather is great but not at it’s peak just yet, and neither are the crowds.

Türkiye is another country that is all round brilliant country to visit in June because of its great weather and range of options.
Istanbul offers a summer waterside city break with plenty of things to do from shopping, visiting mosques and boat trips, but you can also head to the beach in Istanbul too if you wish!
Inland, popular places like Cappadocia are getting hot but they are still bearable during June, and the coastal areas of Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum, Marmaris and Fethiye are in full holiday swing with lots of all inclusive hotels giving you a real summer holiday with gorgeous weather, swimming, beaches and pools, just without all of the crowds and the summer heat that later in the summer brings!

4. ITALY
For the best countries to visit in July, Italy is another clear winner because it offers so much and again, the weather in Italy is perfect in June!
I visited Trento in June a few years ago and because it’s in the mountains it was hot and sunny but there was still a good breeze and we had a few days of cloud which provided nice sun coverage. Lake Garda was also beautiful in early June with the same warm but not super hot and far fewer crowds than later in the summer.
The cities will be warming up and could be avoided but you can head to the popular Amalfi Coast, my friend went last year and she said June there was perfect!

5. BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA
If you want something a little off the beaten path when looking for your June trip and for the best countries to visit in June, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a great option.
June falls just before peak tourist season and early summer brings hot but comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the historic streets of Mostar, hiking in the mountains near Sarajevo, or rafting along the emerald waters of the Neretva River.
With lower prices than many Western European destinations, diverse landscapes, and a mix of Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian influences, Bosnia offers strong value and cultural depth—exactly what many travellers are looking for when choosing the best countries to visit in June.

6. SWITZERLAND
Switzerland stands out for its mix of alpine scenery, outdoor adventure, and smooth travel infrastructure (the trains in Switzerland are epic!).
Early summer brings mild temperatures and long daylight hours, ideal for hiking around Lake Lucerne, exploring the old town of Bern, or taking panoramic train routes past snow-capped peaks near Matterhorn.
June also arrives before peak crowds, meaning popular spots like Interlaken feel lively but not overwhelmed. With clear mountain views, green valleys, and efficient transport connecting it all, Switzerland offers the kind of polished yet nature-focused experience that earns it a place among the best countries to visit in June.

7. SWEDEN
For a true Swedish summer, head to Sweden in June. I actually made the mistake of visiting in late August thinking I’d get the summer cabin life with swims in the lakes but actually, Sweden was heading into Autumn by late August and summer arrives here nice and early.
Kids to break up for school in June in Sweden so local families are enjoying the lakes and countryside too which is why it is a great time to visit and experience lively and happy local life.
It’s surprisingly easy to fly into Stockholm or Gothenburg and hire a cabin by a lake just a few hours away and experience a nature filled holiday in Sweden in June.

8. DENMARK
We went to LEGOLAND in Billund in June and it was a great short family weekend. Ok, it did rain on the day we went to LEGOLAND Theme Park but it wasn’t cold and we had lovely weather later on.
My friend went to Copenhagen in June and highly recommends it for how buzzing and busy it is, with locals and tourists enjoying the long, warm summer days outside by the water. Copenhagen is a city with a real good feel to it in the summer months.

9. INDONESIA
I was lucky enough to spend the whole of June in Indonesia in Bali and the Gili Islands a few years back and it really is one of the best countries to visit in June and definitely one of the top countries to visit in Asia in June because as many Asian countries, especially in South East Asia are heading into their wet season, Indonesia is perfect thanks to its dry-season weather in June.
June typically brings sunny days and lower humidity across popular islands like Bali, Lombok and the Gili Islands making it ideal for beach time, temple visits, and outdoor activities. While destinations like Komodo National Park offer excellent conditions for hiking and snorkelling. With reliable weather, strong value for money, and everything from volcano treks to laid-back coastal stays, Indonesia consistently ranks among the best countries to visit in June for people seeking variety without peak-season congestion and I can highly vouch for it.

When looking at the best countries to visit in June, Thailand can still be a smart choice—if you pick the right region. While much of the country begins to see monsoon showers, islands in the Gulf of Thailand such as Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao tend to experience drier, sunnier conditions compared to the Andaman Coast.

Another good country to visit in Asia in June is South Korea and it’s becoming more and more popular to visit so if you have been thinking of a trip there, now is the time!
South Korea stands out for its comfortable early-summer weather. June typically brings warm days without the intense humidity of late summer, making it a good time to explore neighborhoods in Seoul, hike in Seoraksan National Park, or relax along the beaches of Busan. The month also falls just before the peak monsoon period, so travel plans are less likely to be disrupted by heavy rain.

The island enters its shoulder season during this month, which typically means lighter crowds and more competitive accommodation rates without sacrificing sunshine. Along the calm west coast near Bridgetown, clear waters and steady sea breezes create ideal conditions for swimming and catamaran trips. With its manageable humidity, straightforward logistics (this is one of the few Caribbean islands with direct flights from many cities in Europe) and balance of relaxation and activity, Barbados stands out as a practical and appealing choice in June.

If you’re thinking of a South American holiday in June, thanks to its location on the equator, Colombia is a good option!
June often brings clear mornings and manageable heat in coastal areas like Cartagena. The lush landscapes around the Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia are especially vibrant at this time of year, offering scenic hikes and coffee tours without peak-season congestion. With improving infrastructure, strong domestic flight connections, and a mix of Caribbean coastline, Andean highlands, and colonial architecture, Colombia delivers range and value—two qualities that consistently define the best countries to visit in June.

Salalah in Oman benefits from a slightly cooler climate in June and occasional monsoon mists, creating lush landscapes that contrast with the arid interior and is a popular summer spot to visit in the Middle East. While Oman’s summer heat may limit daytime outdoor activities, travellers who plan carefully—focusing on early starts, coastal escapes, or mountain retreats like Jebel Akhdar—can still experience the country’s natural beauty and rich culture, making it a feasible and rewarding choice among the best countries to visit in June.
